Unsung Makeup Heroes: Chanel Waterproof Eyeliner in 88 Noir Intense - Makeup and Beauty Blog
The long-running Unsung Heroes series here on Makeup and Beauty Weblog features some of my best favorite permanent collection products.
I know what yous're probably thinking (probably). "Karen, duuuuuuude! How is it humanly possible to become excited about something equally basic as another black pencil eyeliner, let alone one that costs $32!?"
GIRL, trust. I didn't desire to fall in love with Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliner in 88 Noir Intense. In fact, if I had never known it even existed, I probably would have gone most my business perfectly content with my ride-or-die standby, MAC Smolder, but you lot know how it goes when you lot get that itch to endeavor something new.
And that's what happened hither. In the process, I found what I believe to exist THE BEST DAMN Black PENCIL LINER ON PLANET EARTH — and possibly the universe. I've been using information technology at least a few times every week since Apr.
Now, yous might be wondering, what the heck is it? — I hateful, other than a liner.
Chanel'south Stylo Yeux Waterproof liners are twist-upward, long-wearing waterproof pencil eyeliners with a thin pencil tip on one end and a subconscious sharpener on the other.
The tips experience quite hard to the touch but glide on the skin like creamy kohls with no tugging, so they're easy to utilize.
Unlike many creamy kohls, though, which scoot around on your optics throughout the solar day, these don't motility AT ALL once they've completely stale down, which have most five minutes, and that allows for enough of fourth dimension to smudge and play.
They're bachelor in a agglomeration of colors in Chanel'south permanent line. Chanel besides likes to periodically release express edition shades that make me want to drib to my knees and cry with joy (like I did with Orchidee from the summer collection), but if I could only habiliment i of them for the rest of my cat-lovin' life…it would been 88 Noir Intense.
First of all, the black color? — information technology's so intense! Not all black eye pencils await alike. Some have weird blue or green undertones or look kind of grayish black or brown.
Not this 1. It'southward straight-upwardly black, like "black cat on a moonless night at midnight" BLACK. Information technology also has an elegant matte finish that goes with just most annihilation.
Second, information technology doesn't budge, whether on my lash lines or my h2o lines. Once it'due south dry out, it's stays put, and it's the longest-wearing black pencil liner I've ever used.
Similar, you know how with some liners when you line your upper lash line they'll transfer to your lower h2o line when you blink? With 88 Noir intense, that happens very, very piffling, and it'll last x hours without any smearing or fading — none of that nonsensical crazy-bidness.
I think that's the principal reason I said "Farewell, Felicia!" to MAC Smolder (every bit a liner). Noir Intense only scoots around less and lasts longer.
I think I've probably mentioned this at to the lowest degree a million times before (haha!), simply my eyes are super sensitive, and a lot of pencil liners drive 'em nuts. Many long-wearing and/or waterproof products as well get out my lash and water lines feeling tight and dry (it's really bad in wintertime).
But not Chanel 88 Noir Intense. I can pile this stuff on, and my eyes don't h2o or plough bright carmine like a vampire'due south (which has happened before with other liners, and it was and so, SO scary).
I wouldn't become so far as to call it moisturizing, but I tin can definitely say that it's one of the most comfy eyeliners I've always worn.
I love this pencil so much that if I were to lose it on vacation (perish the thought!), I would accept to hunt down a Chanel counter. I dearest 88 Noir Intense more than than I loved the film of Johnny Depp that hung on my bedroom wall in high school, and homegirl — I loved that picture A LOT. You don't fifty-fifty know.
You can find Chanel 88 Noir Intense online now and at Chanel counters and boutiques in the permanent collection.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
